Spice up your holiday season with Dance NOW!’s “Clara,” a saucy contemporary dance interpretation of the Nutcracker. This reimagined version of the holiday favorite, charts the journey of a young woman, questioning, discovering, exploring and experiencing the exotic, the unknown and the forbidden, in search of love, identity and self-determination.

Once she lets her hair down, Clara goes after Drosselmeyer and the result is self-actualization for both of them. This one-act suite has a reimagined soundtrack of the Tchaikovsky classic created by composer and ongoing collaborator Davidson Jaconello out of Poland, with costumes from the Morales sisters and a unique and nimble set of boxes which transforms into the world Clara experiences, conceived and designed by Bruce F. Brown. Dance NOW! will take audiences on a holiday journey they will not soon forget!

The evening will also include DNM favorites including the dangerous liaisons of “Here and There” from Co-Director Salterini and the holiday solo “The Gift” from Baumgarten.
